Process

A member in good standing approaches prospective new member and affirms their interest in joining the Sand Bank Yacht Club.

The proposing member obtains an application form and copy of the by-laws from the Vice Commodore. The proposing member takes the application form to the prospective member for completion, being sure to obtain Treasure Cay property address, boat name, and e-mail address.

The proposing member endorses the application form by signature and obtains the endorsement of a second member in good standing.

The proposing member returns the completed application form to the Vice Commodore. The Vice Commodore verifies the completeness & accuracy of the application to the best of their ability.

The Vice Commodore presents the prospective member’s application at the next meeting of the Board of Directors for voting. Upon pre-approval (or rejection), the Vice Commodore notifies the proposing member(s) and the proposed member(s).

The proposed member may then attend one and only one (article 8) function.

The officers will act upon the nomination of the proposed member at the next Board meeting.

Upon approval, the proposing member and the new member will be notified. Membership/initiation fees and annual dues for the current year are due.

Note: dues only may be pro-rated at the discretion of the Board.
Note: the Board should take such pains as necessary to insure that new members are inscribed in the minutes, added to the mailing list and in all ways warmly welcomed into the fold of Sand Bank Yacht Club.

Review ownership qualifications with Vice Commodore

Review by-laws with candidate(s)

Application form needs to be completed, signed by proposer and seconder, and delivered to Vice Commodore.

Board then follows Section 8 of by-laws. Upon notification of member the new member delivers a check for $400. ($200 for initiation fee & $100/per person annual dues) to Vice Commodore/Treasurer.
